The Yeronga State School Fete is a fun, exciting and eagerly anticipated biennial event on the community calendar. This is an important fundraising and community building activity for our school and community which takes our volunteer team of parents on the Fete Committee 12 to 18 months to plan and deliver.

Our next Fete will be in 2021 and coincides with the school’s 150th birthday celebrations so will be bigger and better than ever!

The Fete features fantastic rides and attracts stall holders and entertainers from Yeronga and surrounding suburbs, offering a variety of international foods and a popular open-air bar. A diverse array of entertainment creates a vibrant atmosphere, including the school’s own student performances, local musical and dance troupes, and the day culminates with a colourful evening fireworks display.

The Fete offers the ideal opportunity to showcase our school and local businesses to the community. As many families as possible support the Fete through:

  • Convening stalls
  • Volunteering on stalls on the day
  • Baking for the cake stall (a definite favourite)
  • Promoting the Fete to the local community
  • Assisting with seeking sponsorship
  • Supporting students to perform with their classes and music groups
  • Coming along to support the Fete on the day.

Fete Committee

A new team of parent volunteers comes together to coordinate each Fete. All are welcome to join the Fete Committee. This is a terrific opportunity to work with like-minded and motivated parents, carers and community members who enjoy creating a special event that is fun, creative and has something for everyone.
